Birth Time

I suppose I should just admit that I am on maternity leave. Baby is starting to press down low, the Braxton-Hicks are starting to squeeze, and my brain is fuzzy as a newly-hatched chick. The fact that I’ve written several draft posts over the past several weeks and completed/posted nary a one (though I thought I had) tells me that I am officially on Birth Time. And, for me, being on Birth Time does somehow cancel out Writing Time.

I’m OK with that. I know I’ll be back. I’ve gone through this process before, and the writing brain will re-emerge at some point. Probably in the spring, as I figure out how to juggle two kids and a traveling husband (who has been named 2009 California Teacher of the Year and a Top 4 Finalist for National Teacher of the Year — which means lots of trips, including one to hang out with Prez Obama at the White House! — yes, when it rains, it pours…). I’ll be back, as I will need to write for my own sanity as I learn to live my “Having Enough” motto when time is more crunched, demands are higher, and hormones are pumping. I’m hopeful, excited about the adventures ahead, though I’d love any good thoughts sent my way — for the birth and beyond.

I do hope you will check back with me, as I know I may have neglected my Having Enough baby a bit this year as I grow a new baby in my womb, but this one is still important to me, too, and I’ll be back to it in due time (pun intended).

Happy New Year to you all!  May it be a year of Having Enough and enjoying the ride…

    You have neglected nothing.
    You inspire me.

I”m thinking of you, Megan! Try to enjoy this time and know that we’ll all be here when you’re writing again.

How exciting! I am on baby time, too. “Princess” (aka baby #3) should be here sometime in the next two weeks. I’ve also put a little note on my blog — trying to keep up with everything is hard when you are timing Braxton-Hicks contractions!

Hope all is well there! Keep us posted & let us know when the new arrival gets here. 🙂
